Our Writing Courses
At SWC Academy, we offer a 10-course technology writing program that is very similar to a university setting. Each course is unique and focuses on key skills that will help students in the classroom and beyond. We use research based strategies that are aligned with 21st Century and Common Core State standards. SWC Academy teachers use a systematic approach and will guide students as they explore their craft. Instead of spending the majority of class time on spelling tests, grammar worksheets, handwriting practice, and other isolated
sub-skills of writing, students will develop their writer's craft through a highly complex workshop format.

After carefully searching for a writing program for my child, I selected and sent my older one here at SWC Academy five years ago. What was so fascinating about this place was, they encouraged and motivated my child to WANT TO READ AND WRITE on his own. He was not a fan of reading or writing in the beginning; however, by plugging the technologies that they assembled along with the writing courses, my child was motivated to move to the next level to complete his assignments/projects. Through SWC, my child built a strong foundation in early years and he continues to surpass in his other AP classes. With no doubt, I am now on the waiting list to enroll my 2nd child.

At SWC Academy we provide an innovative and sophisticated course based program to support SAT Reading, SAT Writing, Scholarship Prep, and College Admission essays. Each course is designed for the student who wants to learn using a linear model focusing on various skill sets. Our courses will help students score higher on the SAT with exclusive test-taking tactics specifically designed to increase their score. Students will apply strategies and techniques based on actual test data geared towards his/her strengths and weaknesses. By the end of our courses, students will be able to test confidently.
